Jack Schlechtweg — The Commercial Architect Behind Wound Care's Biggest Launches
The Rock Star Bio
Jack Schlechtweg is the commercial executive that wound care companies call when they've decided to stop dabbling and start scaling. Twenty-plus years. Nine figures of category-defining product placements. A network so deep it might as well have its own zip code. Founder and Principal of Flagstick Advisors. If a first-of-its-kind wound care technology reached actual patients this decade, there's a decent chance Jack helped put it there.
Also — and this is the detail Jack would never lead with — the man does comedy on the side. Which explains a lot, actually. You can't run 130+ rep territories across a 20-year career if you can't read a room, land a punchline, and know exactly when to break the tension. He does not put that on his LinkedIn. He should.
The Origin Story
Jack didn't wake up one morning and pick wound care out of a hat. He earned this seat the long way — by running commercial for the companies that have kept the industry moving for two decades: Merck Schering-Plough, Organogenesis, Accelecare, Shire Regenerative Medicine, Alliqua, Celularity, SANUWAVE Health, MIMOSA Diagnostics, and StimLabs. Read that list twice. That's not a résumé — that's a walking tour of modern advanced wound care.
At SANUWAVE he was Chief Revenue Officer during the era that put UltraMIST and dermaPACE into physician offices. At MIMOSA Diagnostics he was recruited by Dr. Karen Cross as CRO to build the U.S. commercial organization for a first-of-its-kind NIRS wound imaging platform. Then he did the whole thing again at StimLabs, right as Geistlich's Derma-Gide portfolio came under StimLabs' commercial umbrella.
In December 2025 he hung his own shingle: Flagstick Advisors.
What He's Building Right Now
Flagstick Advisors is Jack's commercial-strategy platform for the medical device, diagnostics, and wound care companies that need somebody who can translate field intelligence into revenue reality. He does the work most consultants can't: he has actually done the job. Multiple times. In this exact industry.
His stated résumé at Flagstick includes:
- $24M+ divestiture transactions creating shareholder value
- 900+ clinical sites placed across IDNs, HOPDs, and enterprise wound care programs
- 130+ representative 1099 sales organizations built from scratch
- Revenue growth exceeding $16M annually in public-company settings
- Hybrid capital-equipment and SaaS business models designed from pre-launch through exit
- A network spanning "hospital executives, wound care physicians, podiatrists, mobile wound care providers, distributors, KOLs, GPO leaders, and investors nationwide"
The Flagstick tagline captures the ethos: "execution, not theory." He is not there to build you a beautiful deck. He is there to help you build a real revenue engine and not lose the enterprise value while you do it.
Why You Need To Know Him
If you run a wound care company and you're trying to figure out how to actually reach the market — not just make PowerPoints about reaching the market — Jack is the phone call. He is one of the few people in this industry who is genuinely fluent in three languages that rarely coexist in the same brain:
- Clinical adoption — how a wound care clinician decides to try your product on Tuesday morning.
- Reimbursement reality — whether they'll still be using it in Q3 when the LCD update lands.
- Investor math — whether any of it matters to the people writing checks.
He can move between those three worlds without changing his tie.
And — here's the part I want on the record — Jack will not back a product because it will make him money. I have watched him say no to work he could have taken. He wants to know that the thing actually works, or actually solves a real-world problem. That is not a bio line. That is a value system. It is the reason his friends call him a friend and his clients call him again.
Something He Didn't Tell Me
Jack is a Connecticut guy at heart — Trumbull area — and lives in the NYC metro. But the thing he probably didn't lead with is that he has been quietly building this network for two decades while the rest of us were still figuring out what a CTP was. He's the guy who was at SAWC and Tissue Repair Summit before it was cool to post about SAWC and Tissue Repair Summit. When he wrote about the Spring 2026 Tissue Repair Summit, it wasn't a tourist post — it was a homecoming.
He also names his firm Flagstick Advisors — for the golfers reading, that's the flag on the green. The whole philosophy is baked into the name: he doesn't sell you the swing, he shows you the target.
And, again — comedy. On the side. Ask him about it. Then buckle up.
The Signature Move
Turning "we have a cool technology" into "we have a national commercial platform."
Jack doesn't do vibes. He does infrastructure. Sales ops. Territory design. Rep training that actually sticks. Reimbursement enablement wired into every field conversation. The unsexy scaffolding that makes the sexy launch not collapse in year two.
